How to Download and Sync Courses to Your Shot Scope Device
Shot Scope devices come pre-loaded with courses from our extensive database, so you generally don’t need to download a course before playing, unless it’s a newly built course or one that isn’t available in our database.
Once you play a course, you’ll be automatically subscribed to that course for future updates (including course mapping changes, par adjustments, etc.).
Here’s how to download and sync courses to your Shot Scope device using the mobile app:
1. Connect Your Device to the Mobile App
- Open the Shot Scope app on your mobile device and connect your Shot Scope device via Bluetooth.
2. Navigate to the ‘Courses’ Section
- For iOS: Tap on the ‘Courses’ tab at the bottom of the screen.
- For Android: Tap the menu button in the top-left corner of the screen, then select the ‘Courses’ tab from the menu.
3. Search for Your Desired Course
- Once you’re on the 'Courses' screen, you can either search for the course name using the search bar or view nearby courses that are automatically populated (make sure location services are enabled for this feature to work).
To search the full database:
- Tap on the search bar at the top of the screen.
- Enter the name of the course you want to add and subscribe to. As you type, courses will automatically filter based on your search.
4. Add the Course to Your Device
- When you find the course you want, tap the blue +Add button next to the course name. You can add as many courses as you'd like to sync, but we recommend syncing no more than 10 courses at a time.
Note: If a course is marked with "Not Mapped" next to the course details, please email us at support@shotscope.com with the course name and address. We’ll have it mapped within 48 hours. During mapping, the text will change from "Not Mapped" to "Requested."
If you can’t find the course you’re looking for (even after trying all name variations and spellings), tap the blue 'Request Course' button. This will direct you to a course request form, where you can submit the details for mapping. Your requested course will be added to our database within 48 hours.
5. Confirm the Course is Added
- After tapping the +Add button, it will turn red and show Remove. This indicates that the course has been successfully added to your list.
6. Sync the Course to Your Device
- Tap the 'Ready to Sync' tab at the top of the app. This will take you to the list of courses that are ready to sync with your device.
- Press the 'Tap to Sync' button to begin syncing. The text will change to 'Syncing Courses', and you’ll see a progress percentage as the sync completes.
7. Verify Sync Completion
- Once the sync is complete, the course will appear as 'On Device' in your app. To view all your synced courses, go back to the 'Courses' tab and filter your courses by tapping the filter icon in the top-right corner.
Troubleshooting Tips:
- Ensure you have a strong Wi-Fi connection during the sync process.
- Keep your Shot Scope device and mobile app in close proximity to avoid any sync interruptions.

With these steps, you'll be able to download and sync any available course to your Shot Scope device, ensuring you're always ready to play on your favourite courses.
